A lighter, cheaper PowerDMS alternative, with the price on the page.

PowerDMS was built for public-safety agencies (police, fire, EMS) with the accreditation tools and per-seat pricing to match. If you're an SMB that just needs policy attestation, renewal sweeps, and an audit log, Listor is the lighter, cheaper version.

Don't pick Listor if this is you.

You're a public-safety agency (police, fire, EMS, corrections). You need CALEA / NSCA accreditation tooling built in. PowerDMS owns this niche.

Your team works in the field, not at desks. Shift workers need a mobile-native app to acknowledge policies between calls. Listor is mobile-web; PowerDMS is mobile-native.

You need policy authoring and revision workflows (drafts, approvers, comment threads) inside the same tool. Listor does not do that; PowerDMS does.

Migration

You don't migrate. You just point.

The thing that takes weeks with PowerDMS (getting your policies in) takes minutes with Listor.

Listor never receives your policy content. Wherever your policies live today (PowerDMS, Notion, Drive, SharePoint, your intranet), Listor takes a title and a URL. That's the entire import.

The acknowledgement history from PowerDMS doesn't carry over. Most teams treat the cutover as a fresh attestation cycle: one round of acknowledgements lands the new evidence in Listor's audit log. From there, renewal sweeps run automatically.

Frequently asked

PowerDMS migration questions, answered.

  • Why is PowerDMS so expensive?
PowerDMS is built for public-safety agencies (police, fire, EMS) where accreditation tools and mobile-native shift-worker apps cost more to build and maintain. If you're not a public-safety agency, you're paying for capability you don't use.
  • Can Listor handle our policy acknowledgement workflow?
Yes. Target docs to groups or individuals; employees click, attest, and the audit log captures everything. Renewals run automatically. Force re-attestation is one click. The acknowledgement workflow is identical to PowerDMS for the core attestation use case.
  • Does Listor have a mobile app?
Listor is mobile-web: the reading list, attestation modal, and audit log all work fine in a phone browser. There is no native iOS or Android app today. For shift workers who don't reliably have email access, PowerDMS or SafetyCulture is a better fit.
  • How do we move our policies from PowerDMS?
You don't migrate policies. Listor stores a title and a URL. Wherever your policies live now (PowerDMS, Notion, Drive, SharePoint), you give Listor the link and we track who read it. The acknowledgement history from PowerDMS doesn't transfer (most teams treat the cutover as a fresh attestation cycle).
  • Will PowerDMS notice if we switch?
PowerDMS is a per-seat contract. You'll save the seat cost. The migration cost is mostly retraining admins on a simpler tool. Most teams onboard their admin in under 10 minutes.
  • What about CALEA and other public-safety accreditations?
PowerDMS has dedicated workflows for CALEA, NSCA, and other accreditation bodies. Listor does not. If your team needs accreditation-specific tooling, PowerDMS earns its price.
  • Can we run Listor alongside PowerDMS during the transition?
Yes. They don't interfere. Run both for a month, compare the audit logs, then decide. The Free tier covers the trial period if ten people or fewer are assigned documents.
